Lactase Enzyme is a lactase-digestive enzyme (beta-galactosidase) that is involved in the digestion of milk and the lactose content of dairy products. Lactase enzyme is important for the digestion of milk sugar (lactose) by dividing its two molecules – glucose and galactose, which are combined by a chemical reaction. Nowadays, hypersensitivity to milk sugar – cactose often occurs. People who lack this enzyme are unable to digest lactose and this can lead to unpleasant symptoms. There is no absorption of lactose in the small intestine in their body, leading to bloating, abdominal pain and diarrhoea.
Lactase Enzyme is therefore an ideal supplement for those who would like to take advantage of positive effects of whey protein, casein, caseinate or other proteins, but are sensitive to lactose. On average, 2,500 FCC units are required to digest 10-13 g of lactose. For people with very high lactose sensitivity with a 100% need for digestion support, it is recommended to receive 10,000 FCC units for each meal. Composition
Microcrystalline cellulose (filler), bovine gelatine, microgranular beta galactosidase (Tolerase L-lactase), dye titanium dioxide.
Dosing
Take 1 capsule daily before each meal that contains lactose, including whey, casein/caseinate and milk protein beverages (1 capsule is usually enough to digest 20-26 g of lactose – this amount of lactose contains 400 ml of whole milk.).
